Install your new surf pad carefully, so that it will last permanently.
Note that surfboard traction pads can only be applied once. Our surf pads comes with a quality 3M self-adhesive glue that will stay firmly fixed to your boards lifetime.
You certainly do not want it to peel off in the first surf session, so make sure to follow a few cautious steps.
Depending if you intend to use the pad on a new Surfboard or used one, you will need tissue paper, glass surface cleaner or wax remover, and a knife. The place where you install the pad should at least have room temperature to reach the glue's maximum adhesion. Alternatively we recommend the use of a hairdryer.
1. Remove all dirt, dust and wax by cleaning the tail of your board with glass cleaner and paper towels. Once clean, the surface will be ready to receive the traction pad's glue.
2. Line up the pad before attaching it to the surfboard.
For tail pads you want to put the grip just a thumb-wide above the leash plug.
3. Peel off the backing sticker and align the center of your traction pad with the stringer. Don't push it down too much, in case you need to make a few adjustments. Once you've stuck it down, it's tough to pull the pad back up.
4. Spread the side pieces as much as you like.
5. Once you've finished, and if you're happy with the final result, push everything down firmly to get that glue working between the deck and the surfboard.
6. Finally, leave your new designed board resting for two-to-four hours.
Now catch some waves!
